Sagemcom 2704n - slow streaming & page response

Hi,
We recently had our old PlusNet router replaced with a new Sagemcom 2704n.  The old router was unable to establish a broadband connection - and the line line phone appears fine.
One issue we have experienced with 2704n is bad streaming performance - pauses every few seconds, & when I try and remote work, there is huge lag when I try and type and click on remote pc.
I found this useful link to expose some connection details...  http://192.168.1.254/expert_user.html
Have pasted results below.

What are HEC errors?  We reset the statistics - and within 5 mins the count is up to 690,000 and growing....

Re: Sagemcom 2704n - slow streaming & page response

ADSL data is sent in cells, each of which has a header - the Header Error Count is the number of cells which have required header correction.
690,000 (on the downside?) is an awful lot in 5 minutes - I think you would be better waiting for a more knowledgeable member to suggest possible reasons why, but the low downside SNR won't be helping, and there could be other issues, including your home wiring.
The new Sagecom may just be better at hanging on to the connection than the old router, but any router would struggle to provide a stable broadband connection with that many errors.

We're seeing alot of drops from our end.

Check the link below to see what you need to do to rule out a issue on your end.

Re: Sagemcom 2704n - slow streaming & page response

Thanks for your graph Matthew.
Interestinginly on Saturday 11th in afternoon there was no one using the Internet when we had a burst of disconnections.
Have this morning (Sat 18th) replaced the microfilter on phone extension sharing the router so should hopefully see some better stability.
I am worried that the speed may have been restricted by BT following recent issues.
Will observe and report back soon.
Thanks
T

Hi Matthew,  the broadband appears more stable now.  Suggests the old micro-filter was a problem.
Was able to stream movies etc with no significant glitches, but did see pauses on Sunday evening.
Have posted DSL stats below :-
