Don't hold your breath - a delta report may have come through and not been acted on yet
A quick check tomorrow morning will show whether you have been lucky

The "xdsl debug multimode ..." is not present in the saved configuration file by default. If it's not present, then the default configuration values will be used. There's "config adslmultimode=adsl2plus" under the xdsl.ini section, but that one doesn't actually affect anything if you change it to adsl2.

Jim, you could be right, but I'm gambling on the fact that the present CLS is exactly right for the latest sync speed, so fingers crossed as Rob says.
Rob, ejs may well have hit the nail on the head. I configured mine so long ago now, I've forgotten what I've tinkered with (as far as some things go) and what was there originally by default
Searching the file for things like adsl and g922. (with the dot on the end) might find all the relevant bits but the g922. may not come up with anything if it's all default settings

well the closest adsl hit on the .ini file was this:
config adslmultimode=adsl2plus detect-lop=enabled syslog=disabled
there are no g922. entries at all.
It seems these are default values set by P/Net

The default values are in the Firmware, and Plusnet won't have changed those. You can do so if you wish. But unless you know what you are doing, not recommended, nor do I see a need for your connection
