SNR Increased

Hi my SNR has been increased to 9dB due to a lot of disconnections. I have currently tweaked my router's SNR down to get back my speed. But what I was hoping is if I could get the SNR reset. If my connection is stable for say, three days, will that be enough time for a reset.
Also, could you provide a connection graph for the last week? I would like to see when my line is disconnecting.

Re: SNR Increased

HI sjrinfroyle,
yeah, if it's been stable I'll look at that. I would say though that tweaking SNR from your end can be counterproductive and can cause the DLM to go a bit wappy.

Re: SNR Increased

Joe, connection has been very stable, connected for almost two days with only 134 errored seconds. Can we try 6dB?

Re: SNR Increased

Hi Joanne, the connection has been very stable. Please ignore the disconnections last night as I was trying to get the best speed on my line.

Re: SNR Increased

Joanne, do you think the line is stable enough to go down to 6dB?

HI sjrinfroyle,

Re: SNR Increased

Hi sjrinfroyle,
Here's the connection graph as requested. There seems to be a lot of disconnections at the same time of night, and yet the rest of the time it's perfect. This would almost certainly indicate some interference from something at home in my opinion.

Re: SNR Increased

I have moved some power cables away from the DSL cable, could you post a new graph tomorrow so we can see if this has solved the problem.

Re: SNR Increased

I was monitoring my SNR with RouterStats Lite and it disconnected again last night. I have thought about anything that turns on, but there doesn't seem to be anything coming on. Could you run a line test? If not, what else would you suggest?

Re: SNR Increased

As the time is somewhat predictable, you can 'scan' for interference by using an AM radio tuned to 612kHz, and wandering around with the radio to see if there are any discernable sources of interference.
Check out Kitz' artice on REIN for more details.

Hi sjrinfroyle,
Nope, it's still happening, and one at 7ish in the morning.
