Router username and password not recognised

At the Technicolor Gateway log in I insert the username - admin- and the (S/N) password correctly but it always comes up as incorrect !
Why ? (please do not state the obvious re typos etc)

Bearing in mind what you have said before

I am hopeless at this and my typing is dreadful

Check caps lock off  "admin" in lower case
Copy the ROUTER ACCESS password off your card or base of the router - It is case sensitive.
Another vague possibility may be that if you got the router from someone else (or unlikely but possible it was a recycled one from Plusnet)
and you have carried out a factory reset, it may have reset it with previous owners password.
You will need to contact plusnet to reset it to your account.
