Router stats WTH

Look at my router stats how can this be
Downstream noise margin 2147483647db how can this be last night it was showing as 15db ?

Just done a router reboot it's now showing 15db thank goodness that scared me

You'll probably find it was either a mis-reading (hence display of a default value) from the router or a representation of 0 as the value shown is the maximum value of a 32-bit integer which will be how the noise margin is stored

It usually signifies a negative noise margin

The Downstream noise margin is how showing 2147483647db again maybe a problem with the router ?

I used to have that with a Netgear DG834

I find that once the downstream noise margin is displayed as 2147483647, it won't show as anything else until a resync.
The noise margin shouldn't be varying by over 15db, at least not regularly. It might happen occasionally if there's a thunder storm or other huge burst of RF noise.

2147483647 is the max size of a int.
