Router reset itself

I've a netgear DG834, overnight (last night) it reset itself, password everything reset to default.
Can anyone offer an explanation as to what could have caused the reset?

Re: Router reset itself

Hi there,
Sounds very odd, I can't see anything that looks like a disconnection there last night:

Not sure what's happened there at all, only thing I can think that might do that is an issue with power getting to the router but that would show as disconnections. Very odd indeed :/

Just one of those things that happens once in a blue moon - or quite frequently if your router is faulty.

Re: Router reset itself

I would recommend checking for updated firmware for the device from the Netgear website. I'm unsure which revision of the unit you have, but one of them did have an issue that caused this symptom.
I certainly used to this frequently with customers, so it's not an uncommon thing (though older D-Link units were more notorious for this).
One of the most common things for causing this type of problem amongst any device can be poor power supply or power loss, even if it is only momentary and doesn't cause the device to completely lose power.
