Router problems

Hi sorry if this topic has already been mentioned but I have a problem with my router connecting to the internet.  Up until the early part of this week all was fine but all of a sudden my router (a bt homehub) kept dropping out and losing connection and now it will not connect at all.  I have tried 2 other routers I have but after working at first both have now stopped working, I have done the network diagnostics and used the plusnet assist programme and it keeps telling me that whilst there is not a problem with my physical connection my router cannot connect to the internet.
I'm using a wired connection and am running Windows 7 64.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Re: Router problems

If the router won't connect to the internet there are two possibilities
It won't connect to the broadband at all
It connects but won't authenticate with the Plusnet system
First thing to check is which of the above it is
If you log on to the router what does it show as the status

@Lifepreserver also feel free to drop me a PM with your username so I can run some checks for you as there could be a fault at play there.
