Router internet light is red but still have internet access

This may or may not be significant
Anyway yesterday evening the internet light on my TG582n turned red but I still had full internet access.
Checked this morning and it was back to green after several over night resyncs including an extended period of no connectivity
Is this a known glitch or did something just get stuck - I suspect that it may have been due to a high upstream error rate

The only thing bad, is wifi living in a bigish house. Hence i've hardwired 3 more routers to FTTC router and everything fine

It's worth me looking at the upstream though the next time this is reported.
