Router Password / Username

Hi, I was wondering whether anyone could help me or not. I want to change the password on my router and have tried to follow the Plusnet guide on this. It states that, unless I have installed a password, I should be able to access my router by putting my IP address into my browser.
I've done this but am being asked for a username and password. The problem I'm having is that I've never set up a username or password and I've tried every combination of the codes on the back of the router but none are correct! I've even tried them in combination with Administrator as the username but still no joy!
Can anyone offer any advice as to how I can rectify this? I've tried looking for the manual that came with it but can't find it!

Re: Router Password / Username

It just occurs to me - you shouldn't be putting your IP address in
If it is a Thomson Router (as supplied by Plusnet) put this in your browser window http://192.168.1.254
