Router Password Change Causing Reboot!?

As soon as I changed the Admin password on my Plusnet supplied Thomson TG585 Router, the Router rebooted and reset the password to it's original value. Shocked
What's much worse is that the sync speed on reboot was lower than previous and has reduced by BT Profile to 1750.
Does anyone know whether this Router activity is "normal"?
and
Can anyone suggest the best time of day to reboot the Router to obtain the highest possible sync speed?
I hope so! Sad

Re: Router Password Change Causing Reboot!?

Yes, my 585v7 does this as well. It also reboots if I set any new rules (quite often not remembering the rule I set).
My advice?
Get another router, if you want to do ANYTHING but plug the 585v7 in  Grin
I believe early in the morning is rated as one of the better times to resync.

Re: Router Password Change Causing Reboot!?

I thought it might have something to do with the fact that Automatic Router Setup was enabled.
So, I disabled it and tried again.
Same result! So no idea what's happening  Roll_eyes

Re: Router Password Change Causing Reboot!?

Question for PN
Is it possible to change any of the TG585 Router settings without the Router performing a restart?
I've attempted to change the admin password and the wireless channel to name but two - both have resulted in a warm restart which resets eveything to original values.
