Given nozzer's and itsme's posts I'd be inclined to put a meter on the line myself - if there is a problem it would give you good ground of claiming the cost of all the routers. BT do have a habit of quietly fixing things and then denying the nature of the problem they fixed if it looks like a claim could be made.
