Re: Ridiculous upload speed

Hi there,
Doesn't look like there's anything wrong there? That's a pretty good upload speed for uncapped ADSL2+. What did it used to be please?

Re: Ridiculous upload speed

Im not sure, when games are played over the internet it has a very slow upload speed, about a week ago there were no issues, im assuming its the upload because it is taking a long time for actions to occur for games but then for video streaming the internet is fine with no problems, also what is strange is that the net is fine in the morning and then around 12 it starts to suffer and only gets slower even though there is only one person using it as well as a sky+ HD box. Sorry I dont know what the speeds were before hand.
Edit - So games are unresponsive when played online, youtube and netflix seem to be fine, skype is fine, downloading from dropbox is fine but the upload takes triple the time it should. im so baffled by what is going on, no body seems to know

Re: Ridiculous upload speed

Your upload  CRC errors look very high which may be the problem
Also for only 6 hours running the download errors are also high but I don't think that is the problem

Yea i did notice the errors looked pretty big but i was unsure what it meant / what is an average if that makes sense, or more so what is normal. How do i go about fixing this?

Re: Ridiculous upload speed

I have no idea but there a a few things you can try
If you dial 17070 option 2 is the line completely quiet - preferably with a corded phone
Assuming that this is quiet the next thing is to try the test socket and check the errors after a few hours
Which router do you have

Re: Ridiculous upload speed

I suggest installing Routerstats http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm and select the TG585v7 option - it should then work
I don't know if the user defined part works but if it does can you set it to graph the upstream crc's

Re: Ridiculous upload speed

If it works this is how to do it
From the main screen select Summary
Then using the mouse select the CRC upstream like the picture (you do it by dragging the mouse over it with the left button depressed just like selecting text in a document and right click to get the menu and click on user def it will then graph it.
You can do the same thing with downstream CRC if you wish
