Yep, that's my thought process too. Let's get the upload back to where it was and see how the latency looks during games after that.

Okay thanks.

Has any other setting just be changed too? My 'base ping' - or the lowest the ping is sitting at before jumping to its peaks - has dropped almost half to 16/17, more similar to what I see when I have periods of good service.

Nothing specific that I noted. A ping of 30ms isn't anything to be concerned about really although I do understand it's an increase from what you had previously.

Yeah like I have said previously, 30 is fine, just weird how it's all of a sudden halved.

Do you mean routers that I could test?

Any router that isn't a 2704n. The 2704n is particularly bad at keeping the connection usable (in terms of download speed and latency) while uploading at full speed.

Yes, a Linksys (Cisco) E1200

I assume the order hasn't taken place yet, and do I need to reset my router once it is/now?

The order has completed. Don't worry about resetting the router, I'll test the line from here which will have the same effect anyway! I'll get back again shortly.

Re: Reoccurring fault - gets fixed, then returns.

Looks like it's sorted now:

Upstream Link Info

Loop Loss SNR Margin Errored Seconds Hec Errors Cell Count Speed
5.3 7 0 0 786043 1275

Downstream Link Info

Loop Loss SNR Margin Errored Seconds Hec Errors Cell Count Speed
11 6 0 N/A 5619166 20847

Keep an eye on the latency and let us know how it goes.

Re: Reoccurring fault - gets fixed, then returns.

Oh nice, the internet just dropped so I assumed this was the reason.

Now seeing a base ping of 13ms, which is what I used to get, and getting 17Mbps down and 1Mbps up again, which is about right (used to get 20Mbps down but I'll settle for less for some stability).

Will keep my eye on the ping when the internet is being used.

Thanks for your help Smiley

No problem at all, hopefully you won't see any further issues.
