Regular abysmally slow download speeds 126 kbps 16:00 to 24:00

Has any one else ever had a problem where they have a good router sync speed, reasonable speed during the day time (above 5000kbps) and then at a certain time (16:00 in my case) like clockwork, speed drops to 126kbps and stays this slow until a specific time (eg 24:00) and then back to normal?
This sounds to me like a restriction is being applied to my account during these times.
I have a legacy account - Broadband Premier Option 1, which does apply restrictions to Peer to Peer (19skbps), Download Sites(512kbps) and Download servers (1Mbps) at 16:00, but everything else should be at line speed. Restrictions also applied if I use over a certain limit in a month, but am still within this months limit.
Also how long should this take to get fixed? case raised over 2 days ago, detailed info as requested given 27 hours ago but no response at all today.

Yes - current peak time usage for the month is only 5.96GB

We're on the same plan as you, and last month was the first time we hit the 13GB (in-peak) limit.
Once we did, we got the same behaviour that you are experiencing - slower speeds in the peak period, as expected from http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/products/archive/bb_premier1.shtml. That pages suggested we ought to have experienced a slow-down to 2Mbps for most stuff, but it felt slower. Perhaps not quite as bad as your 126kbps though.

Your slowdown *could* be caused by congestion at your exchange, but the timing you report is indeed suspicious. My gut feel would say it is something in PlusNet's traffic management that is hitting you.

I've replied to your ticket, we should be able to fix this shortly. We've also got someone looking into what's caused this as it seems to be the same billing date as the other customer and the same product.
