Reducing - Speed test results

Router is connecting at a rock stable 19Mb/s+
When I first connected to plusnet (beginning of October), I was getting stable speed test results at about 16mb/s. These have now dropped to about 10Mb/s - also verified with the BT wholesale checker.

I don't think there is much point trying the normal troubleshooting (master socket etc) as my connection speed is not the problem (solid 19Mb/s+ as identified above)

What else should I try before contacting support?

Re: Speed test results

You could check Current line speed in the Member Centre here. Does that say 16.9Mbps?

Re: Reducing - Speed test results

The problem could be the slow speeds mentioned for your exchange here Sad

Re: Reducing - Speed test results

That looks like that'll be it. Earlier evening test today slightly better which co-incides with those graphs.

How do you get to that page by navigating from the homepage?
Thanks

Re: Reducing - Speed test results

OK now I seem to have been dropped onto a slower profile with a 9dB margin - anyone from comms care to comment?
Thanks.

Re: Reducing - Speed test results

If you've been doing a number of reboots to try to get speeds up that could have caused the lower speed.

Re: Reducing - Speed test results

Oh by the way - regarding the exchange status - link posted up thread - WMKDG is Kidsgrove - WMALS is alsager. It's possible that WMKDG serves some alsager premises, but not many.

Re: Reducing - Speed test results

For some fibre connections Alsager is a child exchange of Kidsgrove so the connections do go through there.
However as your sync speed has dropped, I'd suggest you're affected by something else (aswell?) - your line is pretty stable so first thing to do is an SNR reset. I'll go put that through now.

Re: Reducing - Speed test results

Will that SNR reset be done already? Do I need to disconnect/reconnect?
Thanks.

Re: Reducing - Speed test results

It should have completed by now. If it didn't disconnect you then log in to the router and disconnect/reconnect from there.
