Reduced bandwidth, anything I can do?

Hi All I have had a fairly solid 1.5MB for the last few years on Plusnet. This has reduced recently to around 1MB. It looks like the SNR has increased. I currently have SNR 9 and loop attenuation of 60. Can I ask Plusnet to reduce the SNR target? Has it been increased automatically to improve reliability? I am using a Draytek 2850 Router.

Re: Reduced bandwidth, anything I can do?

It sounds like the target SNR has crept up either due to frequent disconnects or lots of errors. Some nice person here may be able to reset it for you and/or get a line report to see if you have had lots of disconnects recently Smiley

One other thing you can try is the quiet line test by dialing 17070, selecting option 2 and listening for any crackles and/or excessive background noise.

Tp-link W8960n on longgggggggg line!

I've reset the line for you and it should go through in the next 15 minutes.
