Reduced IP Profile - Plusnet please help!

I have noticed a significant decrease in my download speeds and some investigation shows that my IP profile has dropped. I saw a thread from yesterday where the friendly Plusnet staff were able to reset the line for a user and get their profile and speed back up.
If one of those friendly Plusnet staff members is watching could they please have a look and see if this can be done for my connection.
The BT speedcheck test shows a download speed of 3066 with an IP profile of 3500, both of which are about half of what I used to get.

Re: Another Reduced IP Profile

Before they do a reset they will need to know why the profile dropped; there's no point doing a reset if a short time later it does the same thing again!
If you provide the information requested in this post we can give you some advice: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,96155.0.html

Re: Another Reduced IP Profile

Either you have been having problems which has pushed your target noise margin up, or there has been a one off event which caused your line to resync at a lot lower speed and now the problem has gone away the noise margin has gone high again.
You need to reboot your router which should give you a higher sync speed. If you could repost your router stats after the reboot please.
Note that if the sync speed goes up you will not see an immediate increase in speed test results. Keep an eye on the BT speed test IP Profile. Once that goes up the PN current line speed should follow in 12 hours and you will then see normal speeds.
BTW: Which exchange are you on?

Re: Another Reduced IP Profile

Allready been there with the reboot, did that along with changing to the master socket to remove any in house issues. That was a few days ago and made no difference, still stuck down at the low speed.
Any other suggestions from anyone?

Re: Another Reduced IP Profile

That will mean that your target noise margin has been set to 15.
How long has your current connection been up? Plusnet will want to see a couple of days continuous connection - when they see that they will be able to do a SNR reset.
Has your exchange got 21CN?

Re: Another Reduced IP Profile

Been up since Sunday I think
Don't think we are 21CN - exchange is SSCAL
Was hoping that JoJo from PlusNet would have chipped in by now she seems very helpful on the IP profile front

Re: Another Reduced IP Profile

Your line should get full maximum sync rate easy with those line attenuation: 30.0 db (should be sync 8128K and BT IP 7150)

Have you tried connecting to the test socket?

Re: Reduced IP Profile - Plusnet please help!

Not a helpful suggestion! The problem is that his target is 15 - until that is sorted he's not going to see a lot better speeds.

You're wrong! Even on a target SNR of 15dB, the OP should be syncing much faster than they are are. That is why I suggested the test socket.

Re: Reduced IP Profile - Plusnet please help!

Adam, If the noise margin dropped from 15db to 6db, how much would you expect the sync speed to rise?

Finger in the air estimate is that each 3db drop can up the sync by around 800k.

Re: Reduced IP Profile - Plusnet please help!

As an actual comparison on my line with a 12.7dB noise margin I had a sync rate of 3264kbps with a 50dB attenuation
With a 6dB noise margin I get 4800kbps
This ties in with Chris's estimate
