Hey guys,
Over the last few days my speed has dropped dramatically from always being 6mb+ to not being able to get over 1mb download. Never had any problems before and thought maybe i'd gone over my download or something, but I haven't so I guess theres some speed fault somewhere.
I'm using the thomson router provided by plusnet.

Looking through other threads it seems my ip profile is the problem since its limiting me to 1mb. Would it be possible for me to get a reset soon? Thanks

It's not quite as simple as that I'm afraid. The IP profile on BT's systems is presently 1000kbps so that matches our systems. On first glance it looks like your connection is fairly unstable at the moment and has been dropping out fairly frequently from our point of view. I'd advise going through the steps on the fault checker next, let us know how things go:

Well,i've been reseting my router alot recently since that usually fixes any minor faults I have so that might be why it appears unstable at the moment.
The fault tests led me to testing the router, although I really don't think that's the problem.
Also for the last week or so until today I have had my router on a phone line extension since I was waiting for an Ethernet cable to be delivered so I could put the router back downstairs with no extensions and still be able to use internet on the pc upstairs.
I don't really know much about how this would affect BT's end but could it mean that they don't think my line could handle 8mb and have reduced it dramatically?

Hi coatseh,
I've had a look at your connection and everything at the moment seems to be OK. Your IP profile has gone back to it's original speed, it look's like it was the disconnection's that caused your profile to be reduced.
Let me know how your getting on.
Chris
