Quote from: pnf I've read the information provided about Wireshark.
The download was correctly classified as Gold, and the Wireshark capture confirms this. Is there anything in the capture file that would indicate why this download was classified as 'Streaming' in the 'View My Broadband Usage' analysis?
There certainly is more in the capture that will help us identify why it was mis-identified, however it's in the payload of the packet and not something you'll be able to work out. The reason is we'll need to match it to the signatures applied to the Ellacoya system and these are only available to the networks team.
If you could e-mail if the files not too big or put it on an ftp server we can grab it and work out what is going on.
Phil

http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,70497.32.html
I'm being to suspect this is a traffic management issue. I've tried resyncing the router and http downloads started going at 3 KB/s, they have now "sped up" to 30 KB/s, but strangely usenet is working at over 250 KB/s which doesn't seem right.
I have since managed to connect to Xbox Live but none of the streaming video etc is working, perhaps this is linked to the slow http speeds I am seeing.
The BT speedtester reported the following:
Your DSL connection rate: 3872 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 2500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 947 kbps
Although I don't belive this given the usenet download speed, and the fact that external speedtesters reporting higher too.
Many ideas?
James
Edit: A few more details:
Product: Premier Option 1
Peak usage: 2 GB
Off peak usage: 11 GB
IP profile: 2500 kps
Gateway: pte-ag2
Exchange status: green

Quote from: _CN_ Hi, it would be great if you could provide a wireshark capture of this VMware download so we can understand where the mis-identification is happening, thanks.
I repeated the download this morning at 00.05 and although the 512MB was not added to my usage figures, it was analysed as streaming on the 'View Internet Activities' page. I've sent a zip file containing the Wireshark capture of the the first and last 1000 frames of the download. I hope that this will be helpful to you.

Maybe they should put some WD40 on it as that stuff fixes most stuck things.
