Re: Really Bad Tonight

I don't know whether my currently poor connection is because of the continuing Plusnet problems or the fact I had three power cuts over the weekend.

Further to my posting from last night I've now done a router reboot - a lot better but still a little down on what I was generally getting through January

Re: Really Bad Tonight

Most of the day of Saturday 11th, BBC iPlayer has been downloading at pitiful speed, 125kb/s, even though Speedtest shows 16.6mb/s all day!
Suddenly, at Midnight Saturday, my BBC iPlayer download speed has shot up to 15mb/s, as usual !
(No, I don't have preferences set for midnight download)
PlusNet Maintenance work ?

Is this why ?

Subject: Peak-time broadband speeds/performance (70143) - UPDATE
This is an update to yesterday's post regarding problems with our traffic management platform.
We believe the changes that our engineers made yesterday have resolved the issue of slow speed during peak times. If you experience a reduced performance during peak times then we would suggest raising a fault via the normal channels."""

Re: Really Bad Tonight

Hi PlusComUK,
That service status was closed so I wouldn't think it was anything to do with that. If it's the same again tonight could you run a wireshark capture and attach it to a ticket?

Re: Really Bad Tonight

No problems last night.
I've downloaded Wireshark to my iMac, I'll fire it up again if I have similar problems.
I'll run this too, I should have also run it when downloads were very slow two nights ago.

Below are my normal download stats, just measured 12:55 Monday 13th Feb.

I presume it is my Streaming Speeds that are important when using iPlayer, as speedtest showed high speed 16.6mb/s when my downloads were very slow.
