Re: Constant Disconnects.

I've had a number of disconnects over the last week or two myself.
Something that I have noticed looking at my router stats is that it seems to occur later in the evening.
My adsl connection which generally runs with line attenuation of 51db on adsl connection (never been able to get my line to hold adsl 2+) seems to run fine through the day with around 3 or 4 db snr margin on download but later in the evening this drops right down to the point of losing connection.
Is there some ongoing maintenance being undertaken by BTOR that we need to be aware of?
My stats taken around 4pm today:
System up time:
3 day(s) 14:44:20
DSL
Line Status:
Connected
DSL Modulation Type:
ADSL_G.dmt.bis
Annex Type:
Annex A/I/J/L/M
                                Upstream      Downstream
Current Rate (Kbps) 440                 4835
Max Rate (Kbps)         888                 5420
SNR Margin (dB)         21.7         3.4
Line Attenuation (dB) 30.5         51
Errors (Pkts)                 0                 0
I will check and post later this evening which is generally when things take a nose dive.

Re: Constant Disconnects.

Maybe you could run a program called "routerstats"  this produces a graph so it is easy to see what is going on.
Here is one of mine -http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=138230.0;attach=64428
I am a victim of Rein and every weekday between 8.20 and 9.00 something is
switched on and my snr drops until late afternoon up until 19.30.
Maybe you are hit similarly in the evening.

Re: Constant Disconnects.

Hi Keith,
Welcome to the forums.  Now that your thread has been split off, it is easier to focus on helping you.
This rather looks like your line is suspectible to night time interference.  Where in the country are you?  Continental radio is more of a problem in the South than the North during the evening.
Is the router connected to the master socket?
If not, how is the phone extension wired to the master socket?  Are there other extensions, if yes how are they wired?
Is there noise on the line?  Dial 17070 option 2, it should be nearly silent.
Which router do you have?  RouterStats does not work with the 2704n router.  See link below.
