Re: Random Disconnections

No external work. everything was internal (master socket and my bedroom)
He did tests and everything looked okay. The line he said is fine now and independent from the phone line. (so nothing will disturb the line)
He told me not to turn off the openreach modem. And after he saw it downloading at 70Mbps he left.
I downloaded files and boy it was fast.
What do you think?

Re: Random Disconnections

Well, if you're saying that the Openreach Modem is losing sync, it's likely that there's an external fault on your lien somewhere. I'd be keen to arrange for a further visit to take another look but with a focus on the external side of things, if you'd be happy to do that?

Re: Random Disconnections

Would tomorrow morning be okay with you at all? If not I can do tomorrow afternoon if that's any better?

Re: Random Disconnections

Tomorrow Afternoon is perfect Smiley (getting a bit worried as you have gone offline) is the engineer still coming?

Also noticed just now, When someone tries to call my land line (the BT openreach modem DSL light disappears then tries to re-sync)

Re: Random Disconnections

Hi Chris
Well the BT openreach engineer has come and gone.
1. He replaced the main cable from the telegraph pole outside and to the master socket. He said it was old and faulty. He did not do any external work (at the BT Box) even though I asked to him to check it. He said there was no need.
2. Line was stable after his visit (no disconnections have occured) so far.
3. The speed was awsome (too good to belive) recieving speeds of max 75.02 Mbps

4. It all seemed stable and fast, but then the IP address changed early in the morning 11/17/2013 7:42 (please see the speedtest log below)
Since then the speed and ping are low again. No disconections were noticed.
Also the IP profile has changed from (16 Mbps-77.44 Mbps to 16 Mbps-68.69 Mbps)

So now im getting averages speeds of 27.00 Mbps

Any Ideas why when the IP address changed the speed went down? and is there any way to get my lovely 75.00 Mbps back?

PS: I did do the usal things (reset the modem etc) plugged directly into master socket. Made no difference.

Please Help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Thanks
