Question : New Fibre Install - what's the engineer for?

Just a quick question. I've ordered an upgrade from ADSL2+ to Fibre, and the engineer is coming on Friday to "install" it. What is the engineer actually going to do other than deliver and plug in the supplied router?

They'll do some work at the cab/exchange and then change your faceplate over to a filtered fibre socket along with installing the modem.

Righto. And if I've already changed my faceplate, which I did a few years ago in order to eek out a few more K from my ADSL?

The engineer will still require access to the property to install the modem and test your connection.
If you've ordered a router from Plusnet then this should arrive a couple days prior to the installation date.
