Re: Question #85864399

What if you run this test - http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html?utm_source=mainsite&utm_medium=navigation&utm_campaign=... ?
Make sure no one else is using your network at the same time as running the test.

Re: Question #85864399

Do you have a TBB Ping Monitor set up?
It might be worth considering getting a static IP for a one off £5...it saves having to create a new monitor each time you lose sync.

Re: Question #85864399

Already have a static IP and Ping Monitor set up. Just felt very sluggish last night.

Re: Question #85864399

As you can see about 9pm I rebooted my router to try and get off that particular gateway, but it didn't help. I then tried it in the early hours of the morning after being woken by maraudig drunks outside.

Re: Question #85864399

And you're adamant that you have no processes or software running in the background on your PC (or other PCs on your network) that could be using up your bandwidth?
On the TBB graph, it looks like something was running around 5am.

Re: Question #85864399

The speed test warned me that I have a variable streaming result and linked to me to this information:
Our speed test carries out two main tests, the first which is the tbbx1 result in your case looks to be a lot more variable than the HTTPx6, suggesting congestion at the ISP or over the WiFi link in your home.
As I am the only one on the network at this time I think we can safely assume its the former  Undecided

Re: Question #85864399

That doesn't look like congestion to me...

Re: Question #85864399

I was only going on what the site told me. All tests are done via Ethernet.  Still waiting for a reply about the second capture I sent.
