Prompt to switch to google.gr

Recently I've been getting prompts from Google to switch to google.gr, when I'm clearly in the UK and on PlusNet. This happens on all devices on my wi-fi, so it's not a device-specific problem.
Does anyone know why this might be, and should I be worried?
thanks,
Andrew

Re: Prompt to switch to google.gr

possibly another batch of IP addresses that plusnet has purchased/acquired that haven't been updated to say they are in the UK.

Re: Prompt to switch to google.gr

Hi Andrew,
Welcome to the forums.  This sounds a bit strange... some potential ideas to check out.
Go check your PN allocated IP address in a WHOIS service - if you have the PN TG router you can find that here - http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/is/_pppoa_/ov/?be=0&l0=2&l1=2&name=Internet - PN have acquired a number of previously owned IP address ranges (they are running out) and there have been incidents of them reporting misleading geographic data.
If you are not using the PN supplied TG router, then go check out the firm ware for your router.  There are a number of routers out there which are vulnerable to a DNS hijack.
Check the time zone set in the router.
Someone had a similar issue recently in respect of Spanish Google - https://community.plus.net/forum/index.php?topic=129083.0 - no resolution was reported.
