Is there a way to get the profile reset on the line, im currently syncing at 766 less than 1/2 the normal sync speed i was getting. i have rebooted a few times but i think a reset is needed now
Thanks

Re: Profile reset

Hi skiprat1977,
These disconnections will not have helped. If you don't reboot, your speeds will come back up.

Re: Profile reset

Hi there,
Just to add to the above, if you are rebooting, it's better to disconnect via the router's control panel before powering off to make sure the exchange doesn't see it as a forced disconnect (i.e. a fault). If it stays stable for the next 24-48 hours we'll look at an SNR reset for you but at present that doesn't seem like it'd help a great deal - what sort of stats is your router reporting?

Re: Profile reset

Ho Joanne
Thanks for the reply.. I have swapped my Thompson router for the BT HHv2 and it seems to hold the connection more steady without disconecting
i get a higher SNR with the HH2 than the Thompson
here is the stats from the HH2
ADSL line status
Connection information
Line state Connected
Connection time 0 days, 1:34:27
Downstream 1,152 Kbps
Upstream 446 Kbps
ADSL settings
VPI/VCI 0/38
Type PPPoA
Modulation ITU-T G.992.5
Latency type Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up) 9.3 dB / 10.9 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 66.0 dB / 37.3 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 15.6 dBm / 12.0 dBm
Loss of Framing (Local) 0
Loss of Signal (Local) 0
Loss of Power (Local) 0
FEC Errors (Down/Up) 772 / 2
CRC Errors (Down/Up) 5 / N/A
HEC Errors (Down/Up) N/A / 268
Error Seconds (Local) 3

I would like to use the Thompson router since i only got it from you a few months ago, Being on such a long line is such a pain in the butt and so anoying when fibre was installed only 5 miles away at another exchange LOL
Thanks for your help Jo

Re: Profile reset

Was this morning's disconnection just before 10 intentional?

Re: Profile reset

Hi Joanne
Yes it was synced up at 766 and was really slow and was timing out on everything so i done a reset and it synced up ay them stats on my last post, much better now, The HH2 has just updated its self i think so there should be another disconection around now but from now i an leaving the router on and not reseting it.

Many Thanks Again

Re: Profile reset

I think the HH2 will probably be better on your longer line Smiley
