IOW, is doing the BT speedtest the only way I can find out my Profile?

The BT test is the only way to see what BT say it is.
https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed ; tells you what it is on PN's system.
The two should match, of course, but the PN figure will lag the BT one by up to 24 hours. Whichever is the lower will apply.

Just ran a line test and your IP profile is 10000, so I've matched our profile and if you disconnect and reconnect via your router interface you should see the change.
