What has happened to my profile? I live in rural Wales but have been getting a reasonable 2M throughput
for over 12 months now.
But things have slowed down over the weekend. Checked PN profile and its now
at 1.3. Nothing changed in premise (see below).
Had an electrical storm on Monday (19/05) which rumbled all day, so I did a graceful disconnect of router and
unplugged main phone socket.
Any chance of a quick look at line and a reset of profile?
Many thanks, Ian

Hi Ian,
Your line has fluctuated recently with sync speed and the SNR margin which has had an adverse impact on the DLM, your line has also been disconnecting intermittently.
Your line speed has dropped to it's lowest point today for some tome with a sync rate of 1.6Mb/s.
<img src="http://community.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image14007599044566.png"/>
Do you have a test socket you can connect to?
Also, do you have any interference/crackling on your phone line?

Hi Chris,
many thanks for yr quick reply.
The D/S SNR/Speed graph seems to confirm my routers
info with a usually stable SNR around 3-4 db.
I will try connecting to the test socket after posting this message.
So you will probably see the line go down again which might upset the DLM.
I have done a couple of 17070(2) calls today and they were both clear
as a bell .

If your line is stable once you're in the test socket we'll be then reset it and hopefully you'll see a speed improvement.

Hi Chris (Purvey),
any chance of a SNR reset? How is the line looking to you?
I think we lost power once over the weekend which may have upset the
exchange.
My router is currently showing :-
System Up Time 3 days 20:40:00
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN pppoa 4294912014 4294896469 0 80430 78572 14:47:45
LAN1 Link Down 459431 417972 0 488 242 --
LAN2 10M/100M 3 days 20:39:51
LAN3 Link Down --
LAN4 Link Down --
WLAN 300M 1578628 1215116 0 11247 1067 2 days 00:46:15
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1557 kbps 688 kbps
Line Attenuation 63.5 db 38.6 db
Noise Margin 10.1 db 5.4 db
Which is not brilliant since I have been seeing a stable 3-4 db on the downstream until this recent problem.
Cheers, Ian

I've just placed the SNR reset, it's seems to have gone through successfully, let me know how you get on.
