Problems with NFS and Kodi and Synology NAS

Sorry for starting another thread, but i was going to add to another thread i found until it said it was over 120 days old.
Trying to re-add my sources in Kodi with the new IP address of this new Plusnet router, but whenever I select the "NFS" option, everything hangs.  Do I need to add the NAS drive in to the DMZ settings so that Kodi can use the NFS share ?.  Or can I only connect Kodi to the NAS as a uPnP device ?

ok, being the extremely patient fellow that i am, i went 'nuclear' and uninstalled kodi and re-installed it and this seems to have perfectly solved the NFS problem as all of my sources have re-added as NFS shares without an issue.
obviously not ideal in a sense, but it works.
