Problems since being activated on 6th Jan

I'm hoping someone can offer some guidance - I migrated from Sky to PlusNet on the 6th January.
Setup didn't go particularly smoothly, although I suspect user error may have played a small part in that.
I am dropping connection regularly - is this normal in the first few days of connection?
I've just reset the router to factory settings and gone thru the set-up process again.  I've not convinced my connection speed/reliabilty has improved much?
When I run a Connectivity Check, all is fine with the DSL/ATM/PPP/IP results but under Internet, I have connectivity to the Gateway but not to either DNS Server 1 or DNS Server 2 - is this as you would expect or does it suggest a problem?
Any thoughts or comments appreciated.
Thanks.  Pete

Re: Problems since being activated on 6th Jan

My DNS settings are 212.159.6.10 & 212.159.6.9
you could try using open DNS 208.67.222.222 and .220.220
the drop outs MAY be due to the training period you should realy leave your router alone for the first 10 days or so.

Occasional disconnections may occur during the 10 day training period but there shouldn't be lots of them. How often is "dropping connection regularly"?
