Problems on LLU last night????

Just been looking at my logs and found that there was a 2h43 min outage showing.  Has anyone else seen a similar problem or is it just my line?

My LLU line as down all yesterday afternoon and last night, until I reset the DSL link this morning.
During the outage, the DSL link was up, but my (Speedtouch 585) router reported failure of ATM loopback test and no PPP connection.
I rang the help line, but got fed up of listening to the music after ten minutes.

I'm sure bob said the balancing work had been posponed, it's possible it was done lastnight it did involve disconnecting some customers - although i'd imagine that wouldn't take 2 3/4 hours.
Was there work done on THN-AG2? if so that's why. Maybe there was a problem at Tiscali's end?

No work was done on the LLU gateways from our perspective yesterday, I've just had a quick look at the gateway graphs and there aren't any drops showing.

I've also had a look through the outage notifications we get from Tiscali and it appears I've found the issue, unfortunately it was received at nearly 9pm last night so we didn't get chance to post it.

was part of the same problem, although it was only 39 mins this time

Looks like they scheduled a period of emergency maintenance this morning. Following areas affected:

• Skelmesdale
  
• Basingstoke
  
• Maidenhead
  
• Newbury
  
• Tilehurst
  
• Thatcham
  
• Wokingham
  

They also performed some work across their central bandwidth links although I'm not 100% sure whether or not this will have impacted our customers.

I'd imagine that if work were performed against the central bandwidth link and it were to be customer affected it would cause loss of data transfer rather than a loss in connection.

I had problems around 1 am, my connection kept dropping then coming back for 2 minutes again and then going

Hi Kitty,
I don't think your problem is the same as the LLU issues as you don't appear to be connected via this.
You can check if you are on LLU by visiting the gateway checker at http://usertools.plus.net/@gateway, if you are on LLU it will show up as THN-AG2
