Time to test out the legendary PS customer support again, which has never let me down in the past, so no pressure
Currently having MAJOR router issues. We have 3 XBOX 360's in the house and up until recently we have all been able to go online together with no problems. Well not anymore, I'm getting random dropouts all over the place, my speed, normally around 70mbs is back to 1 or 2 meg, the router keeps dropping out even when just surfing normally and has to be reset frequently.
Is there some kind of test you can run for me, or some kind of diagnostic I can run and post the results for you.
The router does take some serious hammer and maybe its on its last legs but if you can help out I'd appreciate it.
EDIT: Oh, and forgot to also mention that the router looks like its transmitting all the time even when all the gadgets are off, not sure if its relevant but thought I'd mention it.
Cheers
Gordon

Have you tried an alternative router to confirm it is a router problem and not a line fault?

Are you sure that your router hasn't been hacked? If its showing data as being transmitted/received whilst you have nothing active online then its possible that someone else has logged into your network and is freeloading using your bandwidth.
Have you got the highest level of wireless security that your devices support, activated?
Look at "station info" (or similar )to see a list of devices currently authorised to use the router -you might have an unpleasant surprise!

Hi there,
The connection itself seems to be pretty stable from my point of view (as per the graph below). I'm assuming that you connect using wireless for all 3 consoles?
Trying another router if you can would be a good next step to try and will rule out the hardware as an issue (or otherwise) quickly.

Apologies for the delay, been away this week. Router hasn't been hacked but thanks for the tip. Might have an old netgear knocking about in the garage, will test again this week when we all get a chance to play and report back.
Cheers

As I'm on Fibre the old Netgear I have wont do the job. Boys have been complaining of lag again today whilst one is managing his minecraft server and the other is playing Battlefield. The router also disconnected an xbox randomly again today whilst online.
I got in from work at 10pm and the router has just now rebooted itself for no apparent reason.
I think its time for a replacement. Please advise how I go about this.
Many Thanks

If you want a really decent router then I suggest that you buy one. My Asus RT-N56U is an excellent device & will give you a far better service than the one from PN.

That thought did cross my mind but I'll be honest, the standard PN router has done the job perfectly well up until now. Should a second break down then I will be looking at a different option.
Dropped out again this morning just for the record.
