Port Forwarding on Hub 2

Hi,

I am having problems with Port Forwarding.  I have set up a PC as a server on my LAN..I want to Port Forwrd Ports 50001  50002 and 50003 to a device connected to the server PC but I find this is not working. Is there a full proog guide to lead me through this prcess ? From PortCheckTool.com I get,

Problem!  I could not see your service on (my external IP address) on port (50001).
Reason: Connection timed out.

Any ideas please ?

Jon

Re: Port Forwarding on Hub 2

Hi, welcome to the forum.

What is the device connected to the server, is the application running that listens for these connections. Are you able to connect on your local LAN?

Can you share a picture of the rules you have set?

Re: Port Forwarding on Hub 2

In addition to the above post, there is an account based firewall  which needs top be checked it is set to off

Login to the members centre and navigate from the home page to >Broadband >Broadband Firewall (you'll need to scroll down the page, bottom right corner)

The Hub's event log will report any inbound connections to those ports from the IP Address attempting the connection for the date/time

FWL Port Forward Server(local IP) TCP <port number> accepted a new connection from <external IP>

@Jon73   Can you access the device internally on those port numbers ?

Re: Port Forwarding on Hub 2

I have an Icom 705 radio connected to the server PC (via USB) running an application called WFView. I also have a latop (client PC) running WFView.  Both the server PC and Client PC are connected wirelessly to the Pusnet Hub.  I want to be able to use the Client PC in another country and control my Icom IC705 radio.

The port forwarding I have set is for the Server PC connected by USB to the Icom 705.

Your setup is beyond my experience. The reason I ask if the server port is showing internally is if it's not then the port forwarding on the hub may be set up correctly but the external check is not getting a response.
