Port Forwarding for Port 443

Having trouble port forwarding HTTPS traffic.
Have read this post - http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,127469.0.html/, but even with uPNP disabled, http://www.canyouseeme.org/ is still stating that port 443 is closed.
Can anyone help any further?

Do you already have a server running on port 433 on the PC you've forward that port to?
canyouseeme needs the server to be active on that port before it can give a positive result.

I did wonder whether I'd need something running - I don't at present, the idea of opening up 443 is in preparation for a server deployment. Is anything I could quickly provision, to test connectivity to 443 from the Internet?

Portforward's "PFPortChecker" does the job, but it needs to be run from the same machine which you've PF'd to.
Unfortunately it looks like you now get other stuff bungled in with the download, I don't know the implications of that so use at your own risk.

Alternatively install and run a basic web server on the target PC for testing, there's a few simple free ones about.
