Hi there,
I've been keeping an eye on my connection since I switched to FTTC a few months ago.
I keep noticing that my upload rarely ever gets close to what the line is rated at (4Mb/sec).
Also, I seem to be getting inconsistent download speeds as well. This doesn't effect me as much as the throttled upload speed but can still be quite frustrating.
I've attached a spreadsheet with a bunch of speed tests I've been running for a few weeks. I've run these tests while there was no other activity on the network and via a wired connection to the router.
(edit: Ah, I can't attach the spreadsheet, I've pasted the contents below)
P.S: I've tried running http://test.speedtester.bt.com/ but the thing seems to fail each time I try... sometimes on test1 and other times on test3 while logged in as 'speedtest@speedtest_domain'
Oh, and while I have your attention. It seems quite common that at around 9pm, while my friend is playing League of Legends, he'll get astronomical pings. I know I've read somewhere that you should have this marked as priority traffic. Could you check again to see if this is indeed the case? That would be awesome.
Thanks,
Jon.
