Thanks. That's an interesting discussion.

Basically they are saying the MGS is whatever you actually get and hoping that you'll accept it.

No - your MGS is that given at the start of your contract.

When you start a new contract you get a MGS which is the speed below which you can cancel your contract if not fixed within 30 days of an complaint being raised. That MGS lasts the full duration of your contract.

When you get notification of a change which does not start a new contract they give a MGS, but one I would read as "if you were to start a new contract now, this is what the MGS would be" rather than changing your actual contractual MGS. It's rather misleading, and I'm sure makes some people think they can't complain when they could.
