Policy on Tor relays

Does Plusnet have a policy on their users running a Tor relay or exit node?
(Assuming that Tor is configured with sensible bandwidth throttles in place)

Re: Policy on Tor relays

I would have assumed that running a Tor exit node on your system would be fine - although any traffic will be attributed to you (and counted twice - once for incoming, and once for outgoing)

Re: Policy on Tor relays

Any possibility of one of the PN guys to comment on this one? I would consider having a 10MBit Tor exit node on my connection when (and if!) I actually get my FTTC connection... But I really don't want to overburden PlusNet nor be sent to prison for traffic attributed to me that might be less..... palatable.

Re: Policy on Tor relays

You will be responsible for all the traffic - I don't think this is in any way a wise move!
If you are contacted by the authorities you would not be able to use the defence that it was someone else unless you could say who it was - you'd have no way of knowing that.

You should also take a look at the Plusnet terms and conditions: http://www.plus.net/info2/legal/index.html
E.g.

Re: Policy on Tor relays

Hmmm.... Well, I guess if I had the time, money and inclination I could contest any legal proceedings. I am led to believe it has been done successfully in the past.
As I have none of those, though, I might just relay rather than exit instead.
As for the enjoyment, that's a bit of a tricky one, isn't it? I enjoy running a Tor relay Wink
Thanks for the replies, guys Smiley
