Plusnet site take "forever" to load pages & email problem too!

@jameseh: not sure if it's of any use but I can identify exactly when this started from some network monitoring I started to try and tie down the loss of routing we were seeing a week or so ago:-

Community pages very slow to load here - and absolutely impossible to get to the usertools pages. 
I have a note on my Plusnet RSS feed that "Live bookmark is failing to load" - and so can't get at that.

OK.... Don`t know whether "location" is something to do with the problem.... I am Near Portsmouth.... and about 2 miles from the exchange there. 
Plusnet pages seem to be loading at the same speed as others now. but still no difference on the email side of things....
Don`t want to do a reboot at present time, which may be of use to your end to "monitor" what stuff you have been getting up to is doing anything !
Will look in from time to time....

been a bit sluggish for me earlier today -- also on a 'city lifeline' connection
maybe BT had some hardware on low power - says I who has nae clue

22:00 hrs........................ no change on the email front !...
won`t be on until late tomorrow afternoon, so hope it will be better by then.

Me neither. One thing you can do to improve your email access is to change your pop3 server from pop3.plus.net (which resolves to two round-robin IP addresses) to the IP address of the pop3 server that is reachable, ie 212.159.9.81.
Another peculiarity is that from here the pop3 server on  212.159.8.81 is unreachable, like all the other services on 212.159.8.n addresses, but the imap4 server on 212.159.8.86 is reachable :-

Please see http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,78771.0.html - this same client has no problem accessinf the portal or webmail!

I'd strongly recommend that they try rebooting their router (and getting off the City Lifeline gateways).
We'll update it when there is further information available.

15:45 ..... just returned from a trip "up north" to the Hilton Park service area on the m6 .... 6 hour round trip.....
before I left, I unplugged the router from the mains, and have just re-connected it. Plusnet pages load as normal, and Email is back to normal too!...
can`t say if this is to do with re-booting, or what you guys up in Sheffield have been playing around with !...
for me.......... case closed !
