Plusnet outage

Hi
Anyone else been disconnected from Plusnet this afternoon?
Unable to reconnect despite restarting router.
BT modem seems fine  (fibre)
Any ETA on when things will be sorted would be very appreciated!

Re: Plusnet outage

I was disconnected too and wouldn't reconnect without a reboot of the router.  Without the reboot, the IP address was set to 172.x.x.x not my static address which indicated that Plusnet is not authenticating my login.
BT ONT was green at all times.

Re: Plusnet outage

Well guess I'm glad it's not just me.
Have rebooted the router once already but not the modem.
I see by that link Plusnet might be looking into it then...
Is it worth rebooting router yet ?!!!

Re: Plusnet outage

@Justin7
I was only down for 10 minutes starting just before 3pm so the original PN support post at 13:38 shows that the issue is ongoing and possibly expanding.
Worth a router reboot to see if it is working in your area.

Re: Plusnet outage

21CN connection here. Same problem as other posters - most attempts to connect result in CHAP authentication errors, occasionally getting assigned a private class B address for WAN instead.
Good thing my router supports USB tethering my phone as a fallback!

Re: Plusnet outage

It'd be nice to get an actual reason for this or at least confirmation that plusnet know what the issue is as it's getting annoying now.

Re: Plusnet outage

Thank goodness for mobile broadband.
What router are you able to tether to your phone?
Any chance Plusnet could feed us some useful info/recognition?!

That IP address is for the old TR69 system which used to download and set up your router and auth info for you. I don't think it works on FTTC but your router will be pointing to tr69@plusdsl.net or something like that - as it dosen't know where else to go. BT is routing you just fine otherwise it would be a BT outage

Re: Plusnet outage

Update: My router has now been assigned my normal static IP as of 15:49 BST. Internet is back up, for now...

Judging by the graphs on the main page of that site, EE & Virgin appear to be having significant problems today too!

Re: Plusnet outage

Glad to hear you're back on, hazza.
The service status has updated. However we're still awaiting a significant response from our network engineers.
My apologies guys.
