Plusnet.. need some help. Am I seeing this right?

I've just been looking around in the customer portal and noticed this:
Our current broadband:

This one looks not only better but cheaper:

Am I right in thinking that we'll get more for less if we switch AND a faster connection?  Shocked
Also we've been with you for donkeys years so does the 12 month contract start again or is that for new customers only?

Your speeds will be exactly the same despite what it says in those tables (the lower one is possibly a maxADSL/ADSL1 estimate).
However you will get more allowance for the reduced price provided you agree to a 12 month contract. This applies even if you are an existing customer. If you don't want a 12 month contract the cost is £2.50 per month more as stated in those tables.

Thats just it.. supposedly we're getting 3Mb on our current package right?

What you make of that then? - Seems like we'll defo get the 9mb if we 'up'grade..

Re: Plusnet.. need some help. Am I seeing this right?

As you, also, have found, the estimates from Plusnet are "plucked out of the air" - or based on some historical (or is that hysterical - as in laughter) data Wink The best mechanism, as always, is pulling the data from your modem/router supported by speed tests and IP profile checks to check your speed is not being reduced by line management. For a long time my line ran at 2.5Mbps, which is still my estimate, though it currently is running at its peak - 4Mbps  Cheesy Cheesy
Plusnet FTTC (Sep 2014), Essentials (Feb 2013); ADSL (Apr 2009); Customer since Jan 2004 (on 28kb dial-up)
Using a TP-Link Archer VR600 modem-router.

Hi there,
Your speeds will remain the same(9Mb/s) It's a glich that we are aware of and have a problem raised(74387) to resolve this, if you opt for the 12 month contrace terms then yes, you'll start a 12 month contract.

Ah ok, thanks for the info Chris. We're still deciding what to do about it. What happens if we want to move house in that time?

So are we also able to get the router too or is that just for new customers?

As long as you haven't had a router from Plusnet in the last 12 months you should get the option to request one for the 'P&P' cost (just remember it's not the 'best' router around), if not you can request one by calling Customer Service.

Where does it say that though? - I've not been able to find it on the main PN site.

Re: Plusnet.. need some help. Am I seeing this right?

In your case it is very simple
During the product change process you have the opportunity to order the router
AFAIK there isn't anything specific about getting a router other than that method
