Plusnet broadband slow, resetting and dropping connection.

Been experiencing very slow connection speeds, up and down.  Regular resets and very high times.  Broadband is just about unusable.  Done the HELP to the BOT but no response as yet.

 

Have attached two files from BT broad and performance sites as required.

 

Have no idea how to include in the main text of this message.

@KenMavor Have you checked the phone line for noise? from a quick look at that data, you are losing xDSL connection for some reason.

Hiya.  Thanks for the reply.

 

I did a quiet line test using 17070 and it was completely silent.

Got my wife to do the test as well as her hearing is ultra sharp (she can hear me mumble under my breath at 1000m) and again she said it was completely silent.

 

Something is obviously not right.

OK, Ken. We have eliminated one potential issue. Looking at the Hub page you posted, as I said, you appear to be losing connection to the wider world - unless you are turning the Hub off when not in use?

If you are not doing so, I would report a broadband fault via: https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/broadband/ , but note as it is a long Bank holiday, you  probably won't get a reply until Tuesday/Wednesday.

Once your Hub synced at

8:26:10, 10 Dec. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=4059kbps, Up Rate=1225kbps; SNR Margin Down=5.4dB, Up=6.1dB

Now it is

09:59:28, 08 Apr. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=16496kbps, Up Rate=1269kbps; SNR Margin Down=7.1dB, Up=6.1dB

I do not see any DSL down messages but I note many

09:59:00, 08 Apr. System start Button press (PowerButton)

I assume you're trying to get the connection to speed up?

If the fault bots are not working I suggest you use https://faults.plus.net

My comment re: extended wait times was, as I said, due to the long Bank Holiday  - I have a sneaking suspicion that Faults staff may be rather thin on the ground for the next two or three days.

Guys,

Thanks for the help and assistance this far.

Just did all the usual stuff...new broadband cable, disconnected house phone, moved router closer to BT master socket etc.

 

No difference.

 

Happy to wait until Tuesday but does seem to be a fault somewhere and not just my imagination.

Have you reported the fault, either by mine or @Dan_the_Van  's link? Until you do, nothing is likely to get done.

Just done that.

Means I'll just have to go down the pub to watch the rugby at 8pm....ah well.
