Plusnet blocking ports 1194, 8082 and 8080

I have set the plusnet firewall to OFF and disconnected my router overnight to drop the PPP connection for the settings to take effect, yet still I am unable to use ports 1194, 8082 and 8080, they are just totally blocked.

I can successfully open and close other ports like 443, 5000 and 8443 without problems, so my method and ability is correct.

Can someone at plusnet just give and HONEST answer as to why you are blocking ports 194, 8082 and 8080 rather than hiding behind 'we don't support port forwarding questions'.

Sorry to hear that.

If the broadband firewall on your account is switched off then there shouldn't be anything this side blocking the ports.

Do you mind me asking what you're trying to do?

Re: Plusnet blocking ports 1194, 8082 and 8080

I want to port forward to my VPN server on my LAN using port 1194

I have set this up previously when I was with Sky and more recently when I was with Virgin, so I know what I am doing and how it should be working.

I have successfully opened and closed other ports and checked them with a port checker tool without problems, but 1194, 8082 and 8080 refuse to open.

I have tried with your plusnet one hub router and I also went and bought an ASUS router too. I get the same problem with both devices, so it has to be something with the plusnet firewall blocking these ports. It really needs to be referred up to your network engineer department as the lightweight technical support are not experienced/capable/allowed to deal with this issue.

I'd already read that post before choosing to write my own. If you read it carefully yourself there is actually no real advice or solution given...which seems a common problem with this forum
