Plusnet Profile

My router sync is 443 / 7.719 (which is in line with the 8 Meg Sync I always got with O2 until I migrated to Plusnet a month ago)
The BTW tester says my profile is 6.8 Meg
Speed tests only give download speeds of c 5.7 Meg
Am I being limited by a Plusnet profile?
Is it supposed to catch up with the BTW profile - has it got stuck?

Re: Plusnet Profile

That says:
Estimated line speed:
    7Mb (This may vary between 5.5Mb and 12Mb) - Checked on 2013-02-23 15:52:36
Current line speed:
    6 Mb
Not quite sure what it means

Re: Plusnet Profile

The current line speed should match the IP Profile so if the BTw tester is saying 6.8 that needs correcting.

Do I need to get Plusnet to do something?

Re: Plusnet Profile

I'd have hoped one of the Plusnet staff would have seen this topic and done something. As they haven't you'll have to contact them via phone or ticket.

Or wait.  The Plusnet profile should eventually catch-up with the BT one.

Re: Plusnet Profile

Hi mhoward4,
I have tested your line this evening and given your IP profile a bump up to 7600. If you give your router a quick reboot your speeds should have increased. Hope this helps.

Re: Plusnet Profile

You don't need to reboot and shouldn't
Go into the broadband menu and click on Disconnect - this disconnects the PPP session which will trigger the new profile but won't resync the router with the exchange.
Then after a few minutes click on Connect
