Re: Plusnet Extra Fibre question

I had assumed that you moved from the 40/10 package to the 80/20 but if those results are more or less what you had on the old package you must have been on 80/20 so why would you expect a change

What does https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=stable_rate say for your current line speed?

Re: Plusnet Extra Fibre question

Estimated line speed:
    60Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) - Checked on 2012-08-21 19:43:05
Current line speed:
    78 Mb
bit confusing.

Re: Plusnet Extra Fibre question

That won't be causing your speedtest result being way below your IP Profile.
How do you connect to the router, wired or wireless?

Re: Plusnet Extra Fibre question

Hi tonka,
As you have only just gone over to our 80/20 product, we have set your profile to 78MB/s to allow the maximum speed that your line can support, this will alter once we establish what your line speed will run at.
Your estimated line speed is 60.7MB/s so your speed result at the time you ran it appear to be OK.
Are your speeds fluctuating? If so by how much?

Re: Plusnet Extra Fibre question

The BT Speedtester shows that your downstream IP profile is 77.43Mbps and your upstream IP profile is 20Mbps. Those are the maximum numbers you can expect to see on an 80/20 service, which shows that your modem is synchronised at the highest possible speed.
When synchronised at these levels, then the highest speeds I usually see (at speedtest.net) are between 73 and 75Mbps downstream and 16Mbps upstream.
The BT Speedtester just doesn't ever seem to give high results consistently, especially on downstream.

Are you using a wired or wireless connection? Everything on your connection that I have checked is running perfect at the moment.

Re: Plusnet Extra Fibre question

Just making sure nothing was interfering with a wireless connection. Your profile and line are remaining very stable and behaving how they should.
I would suggest to monitor your connection and if it was to drop lower or you notice any pattern to the times them to make a note of these.
