Plusnet DNS Issues (Sunday 17th July ~ 10 PM)

Are others having issues with the Plusnet DNS servers?

212.159.6.10 and 212.159.6.9 are not resolving IP addresses (tested using NSLookup).

I've changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and the issue has gone away - normal browsing and NSLookup works fine.

Are others the same?

Having issues here, cant open google.co.uk and other sites but Bing resolves ok. changed laptop to use 8.8.8.8 and can now resolve, but this does not help with the mobiles as they cant be changed as easily

Similar here.  Laptop OK as use google DNS, but other devices using default having connection probs.  Connection test on router fails on Connectivity to Gateway (172.16.14.132)

Re: Plusnet DNS Issues (Sunday 17th July ~ 10 PM)

Are any of you still experiencing problems? If so, would you mind running a few lookups from the windows command line using various DNS server addresses, e.g:

Plusnet:

>nslookup bbc.co.uk 212.159.6.10
Server: cdns02.plus.net
Address: 212.159.6.10

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: bbc.co.uk
Addresses: 212.58.244.22
          212.58.244.23
          212.58.246.79
          212.58.246.78

Google:

>nslookup bbc.co.uk 8.8.8.8
Server: google-public-dns-a.google.com
Address: 8.8.8.8

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: bbc.co.uk
Addresses: 212.58.244.22
          212.58.244.23
          212.58.246.79
          212.58.246.78

OpenDNS:

>nslookup bbc.co.uk 208.67.222.222
Server: resolver1.opendns.com
Address: 208.67.222.222

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: bbc.co.uk
Addresses: 212.58.246.79
          212.58.246.78
          212.58.244.22
          212.58.244.23

Level3:

>nslookup bbc.co.uk 4.2.2.2
Server: b.resolvers.Level3.net
Address: 4.2.2.2

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: bbc.co.uk
Addresses: 212.58.246.79
          212.58.246.78
          212.58.244.22
          212.58.244.23

With the exception of the issues over recent weeks, I'm not currently aware of anything that would be causing lookup failures when using Plusnet's DNS resolvers Huh
