Plus Net Having Network Speed Problems??

Hi
Am getting poor speed connections here, 500k instead of the usual 7M.
Connection to exchange is fine, 8128.
A friend on plusnet locally (not same exchange) has similar problems.
Makes for a poor viop connection & excessive round trip delays.
Are there some Plus Net network problems?

Hi there,
There's absolutely no network problems that I've been aware of, although this may have had something to do with yesterday being Microsoft's Patch Tuesday aswell as Apple releasing some rather large updates on the same day, which can cause some network congestion.
I've checked your profilng on our and BTs end, both of which appear to be fine.  I'd recommend trying a reboot and see if you notice an improvement in performance.

Yeah did the reboot a while ago & it made no difference.
Speed test seems slow to initialize, and the speed is erratic, but always around the 400-500k mark.
As I said it cripples Viop.

What does it say here and what results do you get when running a BT Speedtest?
Seems like we've not had a line report from BT for your circuit since back in 2007. I'm guessing that's cause you have a very stable line though and are close to the exchange.

I had hurrendous latency problems last night on a game server, which ive never experienced before. Everyone else appeared to be ok though it was just me.
I wasnt too bothered as it was late, but I will be sure to reboot my router today anyway (I probably reboot the router once a month anyway).

Last night there was crazy latency for me too. I thought it was my end though. What time did you notice the problems Adam1V? Starting around 22:30 for me.
