Re: Please help! Router authentication issue for new customer

Both of those username password combos worked, both connected and both came up with the error message about a outage on bt please wait ten minutes and connect again. That seems positive?

Re: Please help! Router authentication issue for new customer

Can you remember what the error message said? Was it the BT Wholesale service information page?

Re: Please help! Router authentication issue for new customer

The message just appears under the main router login info in red. Where it once said username password not accepted, it now says possible bt outage please try again in ten minutes. However above this message it says connected and connected with both username password combos you gave me

Re: Please help! Router authentication issue for new customer

I can see we've picked up the fault ticket already and raised a potential line fault to Openreach.

It's a bit odd, because when we tested your line previously and raised this fault to our suppliers, they found no issues so didn't progress the fault report to Openreach. But I can see it's been progressed now.

Fingers crossed it's fixed within the next couple of days.

Re: Please help! Router authentication issue for new customer

It confused me too, especially as it was connecting with the test details you supplied? Won’t I have the same problem with authentication even if there is an openreach issue?
Thanks

Re: Please help! Router authentication issue for new customer

From the message you've received, it sounds like the test details were connecting and not connecting at the same time. Sad

There don't seem to be any connection attempts coming through to our suppliers systems so it's likely that Openreach fault we've found is the cause. Regardless of the username/password you're using we should still see some attempts.

@harrow We'll see. Would be interesting to find out the cause of the problem. (And even better to have it fixed)

I will make sure I post in here when it is resolved, which hopefully will be sooner rather than later!

Re: Please help! Router authentication issue for new customer

Look the easy way to prove this is to put a router on the bar pair on the MDF that will prove that it is jumpered to the correct dslam port,

when you integrate the dslam you will see the router,

it's not rocket science.

Re: Please help! Router authentication issue for new customer

Engineer has been, left this message :

Line is now testing good checked to see broadband was working and is connecting to my tester so should be working at home, if not try turning off & on and resetting

It’s still not letting me connect with my username and password... “we couldn’t connect you to the internet. Please check your username and password and press the connect button”

I just don’t know what else to do!
