Please Help...D/L Speed is very slow not Connection Speed

For past couple of days have noticed my d/l speeds are seriously slow!
From a general website ie Sony.co.uk just d/l a 24.5mb file with an average rate of 120kb/sec
So I ran a speed test came back at 8.11mb
D/l from gmail 180kb/sec Facebook play a game on there and just crashes due to speed, yet an adult site I have no problems
All the while broadband speed tests all report with roughly same speed of around 8mb
Am using WiFi connection is excellent. The other day tried to d/l 30mb file from Adobe and I gave up as speed was 25-40kb/sec
Windows took 3 hours just to d/l 1 update.
And I am sorry if I offended anyone with some of my earlier posts, just that someone near to me died and was not in the best of moods.

Re: Please Help...D/L Speed is very slow not Connection Speed

To Gateway hop, you need to Disconnect and then re-Connect your PPP Internet session.
To do a Disconnect of your PPP Internet session with the ISP - you need to login to the modem/router interface and look for the Disconnect button to click on. On the Thomson modem/routers you will typically find it in the box marked Internet as shown here.  Once disconnected, you then click Connect.
