Planned Maintenance causing Internet Disconnections and Lower Speed?

For the last month my broadband connection has been experiencing internet disconnections and lower speed.

I used to be connected for up to 30 days before experiencing a disconnection but now it occurs every day. I also used to get 5.5-6mb but now get 4mb connection speed.

To resolve it I tried the following:

  1. The Quiet Line Test - no problems found
  2. Changing micro filters
  3. Using another router

But the problems persist.

The current readings on my router are as follows:

Downstream: 4536kbps

Upstream: 1135kbps

Cell Rate: 10698 (upstream) / 2678 (downstream)

SNR Marging - 9db (downstream) / 5.5db (upstream)

Operational Mode: ADSL2+

Line Attenuation: 56db (downstream) / 28.5db (upstream)

CRC Errors: 0 (downstream) / 0 (upstream)

FEC Errors: 0 (downstream) / 0 (upstream)

HEC Errors: 0 (downstream) / 0 (upstream)

NCD Errors: 0 (downstream) / 0 (upstream)

OCD Errors: 0 (downstream) / 0 (upstream)

Are these problems related to all the maintenance that is being carried out?

If so, when will these problems settle down?

If not is there anything else I can try to resolve this?

Re: Planned Maintenance causing Internet Disconnections and Lower Speed?

I'm confident that the overnight maintenance will not be causing this. There's maintenance somewhere on the network pretty much every day and the majority goes completely unnoticed.

Whilst not the most drops I've seen, there are more than I'd like on that graph.

I'm just testing your line and will update this post shortly.

Upstream DSL Link Information Downstream DSL Link Information
Loop Loss: 28.8 56.0
SNR Margin: 6.5 9.0
Errored Seconds: 3 0
HEC Errors: 1
Cell Count: 829768 881920
Speed: 1135 4536

Maximum Stable Rate (KBPS): 4544 Fault Threshold Rate (KBPS): 3635
Mean Time Between Retrains (Seconds): 28760 Mean Time Between Errors Upstream (Seconds): 364
Indicative Line Quality: G Mean Time Between Errors Downstream (Seconds): 4541

The mean time between errors seems on, a little lower than perfect but shouldn't be causing issues. The SNR looks fine and for a 56db attenuation, the sync speed is good.

Are you connected to the master socket, any extension leads in use?

The router is connected to a secondary socket.

It could be internal wiring causing the issue. Is it possible for you to connect to the master socket for an extended period of time?

I should be able to.
