Planned Broadband Router Maintenance - Wednesday 14th May Midnight - 6.00am

Quote
It's unlikely. There may be a short routing 'blip' however any impact will be negligible and is unlikely to be noticed.

lost sync at 2.15am and DLM decided to increase my 6 SNR back to 12 and decreased my IP profile from 5.8 too 3.9, so nice of it.  I have tried one reboot to trigger it returning to normal as it usually does, but not this time.  Will try again during the morning, but what has happened to DLM firing off false positive changes after a single lost sync that was caused by BT maintenance.
Going by the graphs I am not alone, but most others lost sync just after 12am, so guess my exchange was later on the work schedule.

Hi
Your loss of sync shouldn't have been down to the planned work tonight that is posted in the service status, more likely to be some BT planned work.

Re: Planned Broadband Router Maintenance - Wednesday 14th May Midnight - 6.00am

Nothing has happened in the last month or so to make me think it wasn't anything but a lost sycn from outside measures.
weather is good
no phone line noise
SNR has been stable at 6
speeds have been stable at 5.4mbit
constantly connected to the master test socket
no power spikes/loss
no interference from electrical equipment near by
Did a reboot earlier and SNR is still at 12, so DLM has flagged something wrong that isn't there.

Re: Planned Broadband Router Maintenance - Wednesday 14th May Midnight - 6.00am

Lost sync is definitely NOT down to anything Plusnet do. When Plusnet interrupt your connection it is the PPP session that is killed but the router will stay in sync with the exchange (same as if you do a disconnect via the router interface).
Edit: That is why we say do a disconnect/connect via the router interface as it doesn't upset the DLM and the Plusnet initiated disconnects can't affect the DLM either.
